On 22.11.2017, a drone and laser scanner presentation organised on the occasion of the Technology Days was held in the Upper Secondary School Complex in Kalisz Pomorski.

We are pleased to announce that following the decision of 17th November 2017 of the Index Copernicus International Scientific Evaluation Team, the publishing quality of the Scientific Journals of the Maritime University of Szczecin has been evaluated as higher which is expressed by the ICV 2016 index of 90.35.

The 17th Marine Traffic Engineering Conference and International Symposium Information on Ships MTE-ISIS 2017, prepared in cooperation with the German Institute of Marine Traffic Engineering (DGON) was held in Kołobrzeg in the period 11 - 13 October 2017.  

In the period 27-29 September, the 5th International Symposium on Sensor Science was held in Barcelona. The participants of the Symposium were scientists from all over the world, e.g. from the USA, India, Israel, Albania, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Poland. The symposium was attended by the representative of the Faculty of Navigation (Institute of Geoinformatics), Grzegorz Stępień, PhD., who presented his work on “Method of determination of exterior orientation of sensors in Hilbert type space” in the poster part.

Last October we informed that the Scientific Journals of the Maritime University of Szczecin was included in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI).

On 16th March 2017, certificates of completion of the AutoCAD-advanced course were handed in at the Institute of Marine Navigation. The training covered sixty hours of practical classes in two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) computer aided design. The training conducted by the lecturer and instructor Waldemar Kostrzewa, PhD (CadSoft) was organised and coordinated  by the Institute of Marine Navigation.

The 4th session of the Sub-Committee of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) on Navigation, Communications and Search and Rescue (NCSR) was held in London in the period 6-10 March 2017. A Polish representative to this Sub-Committee was the Dean of the Faculty of Navigation, Paweł Zalewski, PhD, Eng., Professor of MUS.

On 2nd and 3rd March 2017, the second meeting of the Convent of Deans of Faculties having the right to confer the PhD degree in the discipline of geodesy and cartography in the 2016-2020 term of office was held in Windsor Hotel in Jachranka near Warsaw. 

In the period from 29th January to 4th February, the 4th meeting of the Sub-Committee of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) for Human Element, Training and Watchkeeping (HTW) was held in London. A representative of the Polish delegation in the work of this Sub-Committee was the Director of the Institute of  Marine Technologies, Professor Janusz Uriasz.

In the period 14-16.12.2016 the Navitec 2016 was held in ESTEC Noordwijk in Holand. The conference has been organised regularly for 8 years by ESA (European Space Agency) in cooperation with CNES, DLR and University of the Federal Armed Forces Munich.
An agreement between Polska Żegluga Bałtycka and Sup4Nav - the operator of NAVDEC system - was signed on Thursday, 8th December 2016 in Kołobrzeg.
We are pleased to inform you that our quarterly Zeszyty Naukowe Akademii Morskiej w Szczecinie, Scientific Journals of the Maritime University of Szczecin has been indexed in the Global Impact Factor (GIF) database.
The Safety Forum 2016 devoted to unmanned air and marine systems was held on 14.10.2016 in Szczecin. The organiser of the Forum was Nobilis MEDIA and the patronage over the event was taken by: the Vice Minister of National Defence Bartosz Kownacki, the Chairman of the National Defence Committee of the Polish Parliament Lower Chamber Michał Jach and the National Security Bureau in cooperation with the Multinational Corps Northeast. The Faculty of Navigation was represented in the Forum a staff member of the Institute of Geoinformatics, Grzegorz Stępień, PhD, Eng.
On 19.10.2016, a meeting of representatives of the Faculty of Navigation with the largest Szczecin geodetic companies was held in the Senate Hall of the Maritime University of Szczecin at the invitation of Paweł Zalewski, PhD, Eng. Professor of MUS. 
We are pleased to inform that our quarterly Scientific Journals of the Maritime University of Szczecin has been indexed in a new database lunched in the year 2015 Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) in the Web of Science™ Core Collection of Thomson Reuters. We appreciate this award very much as well as the recognition of our commitment to continuous quality improvement of our quarterly. We are confident that presence in the ESCI will increase the international visibility and readership of the Journal.
