In 2015, the scientific and research team of employees from the Marine Traffic Engineering Centre developed an e-learning application for K-Bridge and K-Nav ECDIS systems for Konsberg Maritime AS. Information concerning this topic has been widely spread in the navigation environment by the popular magazine and website - Marine Electronics.
This year, the Maritime University of Szczecin organised again workshops developing creative problem solving during the national Design Thinking Week 2015 organised under the auspices of the Top 500 Innovators Association, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the National Centre for Research and Development, the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development and the USA Embassy in Poland. The local patronage of the event was taken by the Rector of the Maritime Academy of Szczecin, Prof. DSc. PhD. Eng. Master Mariner Stanisław Gucma. Moreover, our local partners were the Scientific Journals of the Maritime University of Szczecin, the District Office in Police, the Regional Centre for Innovation and Technology Transfer of the West Pomeranian University of Technology, Business Link Szczecin as well as PGE Górnictwo i Energetyka Konwencjonalna S.A.
The ESABALT project implemented by the Faculty of Navigation (under Prof. Zbigniew Pietrzykowski) has been granted the flagship project of the EUSBSR - European Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region and was added to the strategy's Action Plan announced in June.
After a whole year of learning and gathering experience the students decided to ... continue the process also during their summer holidays. Combining pleasure and business they set out to the Greek island of Chios where, within the project MELES-More Entrepreneurial Life at European Schools, they will attend a two-week course on Entrepreneurship.
Sup4Nav established by a team of creators from the Faculty of Navigation in order to implement the Navdec invention based on a licence given by the Maritime University was among 5 beneficiaries from Poland during the last call for proposals in the SME Instrument competition - phase I. The European Commission received 1569 proposals for assessment, 251 of which reached the required point threshold and 60.1% of which will receive funds.
Again, we have an opportunity to promote the inventive potential of our University in Poland. The invention of professor Bolesław Kuźniewski called "An underwater generator set and the method of its setting in sea water column" is taking part in the final of Gazeta Prawna competition. Eureka! The Dean of the Faculty of Marine Engineering - Professor Janusz Grabian invites to a public defence of a doctoral dissertation of Marcin Kołodziejski, MSc. entitled "The analysis of the RCM maintenance system implementation for the semi submersible rig azimuth thrusters", which will take place on 14.04.2015. (Tuesday) at 12.00 in the Senate Hall of the Maritime University of Szczecin.
On Wednesday 3 December 2014 representatives of the Student Science Innovator's Club Ordo ex Chao visited the Hasso-Plattner-Institut School of Design Thinking at Universität Potsdam (D-School).
On 6th May 2014 the Academic Committee of the National Centre for Nuclear Research, in Otwock - Świerk awarded Janusz Chrzanowski, PhD, a member of the Faculty of Marine Engineering, with a post-doctoral degree in the field of physics (doktor habilitowany nauk fizycznych), focus area being physics. 
The Dean of the Marine Engineering Faculty has the pleasure to inform that on the 11th March 2014 the Committee of the Marine Engineering Faculty of the Maritime University of Szczecin decided in favour of the candidate, Paweł Mazurek, MSc, after hearing his public defence of a doctoral dissertation on “Diagnostics of Common Rail system on the basis of phase measurements of the injection process”. Consequently, the Committee adopted a resolution on awarding the author with the title of engineering doctor in the field of machinery construction and operation and specialisation area being machinery diagnostics. The dissertation was also awarded special distinctions. 

Admission is being opened for full time students in their third year of Mechatronics and Marine Mechanical Engineering who participate in the project KIERUNKI ZAMAWIANE (Commissioned Fields of Study - Mechatronics and Marine Mechanical Engineering in the Maritime University of Szczecin).

Mr. Piotr Podstawczuk, a third year student of Mechanics and Machine Construction, Faculty of Marine Engineering at the Maritime University of Szczecin, has been granted a scholarship for the academic year 2013/2014 from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education for his outstanding achievements.

Anyone interested in a seminar ‘Selected aspects of problem teaching and commercialization of knowledge on the examples of Finland and the USA’, is invited on February, 6th (Thursday) at 12.00-13.30 to the Senate Hall of the Maritime University of Szczecin (the main building at Wały Chrobrego 1-2).
