On 05-08 November 2019, the meeting of Working Group 4 (WG4) of COST Action CA OC-2017-1-22010 WECANet "A pan-European Network for Marine Renewable Energy with a focus on Wave Energy" took place at the Maritime University of Szczecin . The meeting concerned plans and development directions of solutions regarding non-technical aspects of the development of sea wave energy converters. Currently, 31 partner countries participate in the COST action.
The 1st Annual Assembly of COST Action CA17105 "A Pan-European Network for Marine Renewable Energy with a Focus on Wave Energy" (WECANet) took place at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki on 11-12 February this year.
A public defence of the doctoral dissertation of Marcin Matuszak, MSc. was held on 16th October 2018 in the Senate Hall at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics of the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin.
On 12th September, the inauguration meeting of the managing committee of the COST Action no. CA17105 entitled "A pan-European Network for Marine Renewable Energy with Focus on Wave Energy” (WECANet) was held in the office of the European Cooperation in Science and Technology Association in Brussels. The Maritime University of Szczecin was represented by Leszek Chybowski, PhD. Eng., an employee of the Institute of Marine Power Plant Operation of the Faculty of Marine Engineering.
An international project entitled "A Pan-European Network for Marine Renewable Energy with a Focus on Wave Energy", filed as a part of the COST programme, has obtained an approval. This is a networking action connecting over 100 participants from 25 countries.
On 20th February 2018, a public defence of the doctoral dissertation by Katarzyna Bryll, MSc. was held in the Hall of the Senate of the Maritime University of Szczecin. The title of the dissertation was "Shaping of operational properties and recycling of single composite polymer materials."
We are pleased to inform that our quarterly, the Scientific Journals of the Maritime University of Szczecin, has been indexed in the Web of ScienceTM Core Collection Emerging Sources Citation Index Backfile database (ESCI Backfile) – an archive of the ESCI database where the SJ were included in the previous year.
We are pleased to announce that following the decision of 17th November 2017 of the Index Copernicus International Scientific Evaluation Team, the publishing quality of the Scientific Journals of the Maritime University of Szczecin has been evaluated as higher which is expressed by the ICV 2016 index of 90.35.
Last October we informed that the Scientific Journals of the Maritime University of Szczecin was included in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI).
In the period from 29th January to 4th February, the 4th meeting of the Sub-Committee of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) for Human Element, Training and Watchkeeping (HTW) was held in London. A representative of the Polish delegation in the work of this Sub-Committee was the Director of the Institute of Marine Technologies, Professor Janusz Uriasz.
