On 29.06.2016 at the Faculty of Navigation, the public defence was held of a doctoral dissertation in the field of technical sciences, discipline of transport of Kinga Łazuga, MSc. entitled: "The Model of Optimal Allocation of Oil Spill Response Resources and Measures"
SCORE - Scoreboard of Competitiveness of European Transport Manufacturing Industry is the title of a Horizon 2020 project which was approved for implementation by the European Commission. One of the project partners is the Faculty of Economics and Transport Engineering of Maritime University.

In 2015, the scientific and research team of employees from the Marine Traffic Engineering Centre developed an e-learning application for K-Bridge and K-Nav ECDIS systems for Konsberg Maritime AS. Information concerning this topic has been widely spread in the navigation environment by the popular magazine and website - Marine Electronics.
The "zero edition" of a new quarterly professional magazine "Transport Logistics Ports" has just been released. The magazine is issued in cooperation with the Faculty of Economics and Transport Engineering of the Maritime University of Szczecin. 
The idea of launching a new magazine appeared among the members of the Interuniversity Transport Society operating by the Szczecin Branch of the Polish Association of Transport Engineers and Technicians, developing and promoting the, so called, "Szczecin School of Transport".
From 02 to 03 March, the second edition of Green Cities Conference was held in Szczecin. There were 70 participants, including world-famous scientists, representatives of city authorities and enterprises operating in the business connected with transport and urban logistics.

This year, the Maritime University of Szczecin organised again workshops developing creative problem solving during the national Design Thinking Week 2015 organised under the auspices of the Top 500 Innovators Association, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the National Centre for Research and Development, the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development and the USA Embassy in Poland. The local patronage of the event was taken by the Rector of the Maritime Academy of Szczecin, Prof. DSc. PhD. Eng. Master Mariner Stanisław Gucma. Moreover, our local partners were the Scientific Journals of the Maritime University of Szczecin, the District Office in Police, the Regional Centre for Innovation and Technology Transfer of the West Pomeranian University of Technology, Business Link Szczecin as well as PGE Górnictwo i Energetyka Konwencjonalna S.A.
The Scientific and Technical Conference "The Szczecin Agglomeration Transport Problems 2015" was held for the seventh time on 14.10.2015 in the Szczecin City Council meeting room. The conference was organised by the Szczecin branch of the Polish Association of Transport Engineers and Technicians in cooperation with the Faculty of Economics and Transport Engineering of the Maritime University of Szczecin and the Szczecin City Hall.
Student Symposium on Logistics and Transport themed "SeaPoint 2015" will be held from 5th to 6th November 2015 at the Faculty of Economics and Transport Engineering. SeaPoint is an annual event organised by the Student Scientific Society of Logistics and Transport operating at the Faculty of Economics and Transport Engineering of the Maritime University of Szczecin.
The ESABALT project implemented by the Faculty of Navigation (under Prof. Zbigniew Pietrzykowski) has been granted the flagship project of the EUSBSR - European Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region and was added to the strategy's Action Plan announced in June.
After a whole year of learning and gathering experience the students decided to ... continue the process also during their summer holidays. Combining pleasure and business they set out to the Greek island of Chios where, within the project MELES-More Entrepreneurial Life at European Schools, they will attend a two-week course on Entrepreneurship.
On Sunday - 14th June 2015 - the most distinguished people and companies who significantly influenced the development of maritime industry were announced.
