A great sailing celebration - The Tall Ships Races 2017 final in Szczecin was simultaneously an opportunity for the Choir of the Maritime University of Szczecin to get involved in three big artistic events. This is a huge success of the ensemble conducted by Sylwia Fabiańczyk-Makuch. 

The Tall Ships 2017 in Szczecin were a great opportunity for meetings on boards of vessels - the crews of Kruzenshtern and Mir visited the board of Nawigator XXI and our students with the ship's crew paid a visit to both tall ships. Yet, this is not the end of hospitable meetings. The crews of the tall ships taking part in The Tall Ships Races 2017 also visited the Maritime University building in Wały Chrobrego.
Last October we informed that the Scientific Journals of the Maritime University of Szczecin was included in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI).

In the period 12 – 13.07.2017, as a part of the project South Coast Baltic, a survey was conducted among sailors in selected yacht ports in Germany, Poland, Denmark and Lithuania. The aim of the study was to learn about the preferences of sailors as regards selecting sailing routes and the activities undertaken in the visited towns.

An agreement on cooperation between the Maritime University of Szczecin and the town of Kędzierzyn-Koźle as well as the Kędzierzyn-Koźle District was signed on Thursday, 13 July 2017, in Opole. 

We hereby inform that the Jury of the West Pomeranian Nobel Prize Competition awarded the prize in the field of marine sciences to the employee of the Institute of Transport Engineering

In the period 25-26.05.2017, a meeting was held with Vincent Riekerk a representative of the hydrographic sector and a Dutch company Deep BV. The aim of the meeting was to tighten the cooperation, especially in the field of student work placements.

The Sea Dog Prize is awarded annually to praiseworthy graduates and distinguishing students of Maritime University of Szczecin. 

An innovative laboratory of virtual and augmented reality systems has been established at the Faculty of Navigation of the Maritime University of Szczecin - it is one of the first units in the world using VR and AR possibilities for the needs of maritime industry.

Almost 300 people - graduates of maritime schools, which have functioned in Szczecin for 70 years - took part in celebrations of the 70th anniversary of Maritime Education in West Pomerania.

A plaque commemorating the 55th anniversary of the establishment of the State Marine Fishery School was unveiled in the building of today's Maritime University of Szczecin. The School was located in the building in Wały Chrobrego in the years 1962-67.
The Faculty of Navigation of the State Maritime School was established in 1947. The school was, then, situated in Piastów Alley and gave beginning to maritime education in Szczecin.
One of the events taking place at Maritime University of Szczecin during the 70th anniversary of Maritime Education in West Pomerania was a book launching. The work by Professor Aleksander Walczak - "On the Szczecin School Fairway. Memories of the Maritime School Rector" was lunched on the board of Nawigator XXI. 
Traditionally, during the Day of Maritime University, MUS students - representatives of individual faculties, competed in swimming. This year, except for the Day of Maritime University, we also celebrated the 70th anniversary of Maritime Education in West Pomerania, which additionally made our competition more festive.
