The International Ministerial Conference "Connecting by Inland Navigation" was held on 18 and 19 April in Wrocław.

The conference devoted to the subject of Inland Navigation was organised based on the Ministerial Resolution on embracing the new era for sustainable inland transport and mobility adopted by ministers during the seventieth anniversary of the establishment of UNECE Inland Transport Committee on 21 February 2017. We are pursuing these objectives through references to the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030 and emphasis of the role of inland waterway transport for sustainable functioning of national transport systems as well as their contribution to the social and economic development.

The conference was attended by representatives of the Maritime University of Szczecin, Rector Wojciech Ślączka and Vice Rector for Teaching - Agnieszka Deja. During the panel devoted to human resources and education for inland navigation, Agnieszka Deja made a presentation about the University's plans concerning the introduction of a modern and highly specialised curriculum within the scope of educating the staff for inland navigation.
